Instagrid shortlisted in National Sustainability Awards

Instagrid GO shortlisted for Green Energy Product of the Year at the National Sustainability Awards

One hour of operation from a small petrol or diesel generator produces as much NOx and particulate emissions as driving 250 km in an average car. Across construction sites, events, infrastructure projects, and film productions, millions of these generators run every day.

Instagrid was built to replace them. And that impact continues to be recognised recognised: Instagrid has been shortlisted for Green Energy Product of the Year at the National Sustainability Awards 2026.

Why the nomination

The case for shortlisting rests on three things: measurable environmental impact, proven real-world performance, and adoption at scale.

More than 60,000 Instagrid portable power supply units have been deployed globally. As of December 2025, those units have collectively helped avoid 1 million tonnes of CO₂e emissions, tracked and verified through integrated IoT monitoring.

That is not a projection. It is a measured outcome.

What Instagrid replaces, and why it matters

Small combustion generators are among the most polluting tools still in widespread professional use. They are also, until recently, among the hardest to replace: the applications that depend on them require genuine power output, genuine portability, and genuine reliability.

Instagrid ONE and Instagrid GO deliver up to 18,000 W peak power and 3,600 W continuous output. They weigh under 21 kg. They recharge in under 2.5 hours. They operate silently and produce no local emissions at the point of use.

For the industries that depend on portable power, this closes a gap that has existed for decades.

Adopted across industries, at scale

The shortlisting reflects adoption that spans sectors and geographies.

Leading hire and rental companies including Kiloutou, Sunbelt Rentals, GAP, Speedy Hire, Travis Perkins Hire, VP Group and Loxam have built Instagrid into their fleets. Major contractors including Balfour Beatty, Vinci, Skanska, BAM, and Strabag have adopted Instagrid portable power supplies to meet environmental, safety, and operational requirements on site.

In film and media, major productions including Odyssey, Wicked and How to Train Your Dragon have used Instagrid on location, where silent, fume-free power is not a preference but a production requirement.

At countless festivals Instagrid is replacing smally gennys – and putting teams in control of the thousands of outlying small but essential power needs. At Shambala Festival 2025, five Instagrid units replaced traditional generators across multiple site functions, saving over 1,000 litres of fuel while improving air quality, reducing noise, and improving conditions for crews on the ground.

The Instagrid ecosystem continues to expand. Instagrid LINK connects up to three units to extend runtime and capacity. Instagrid LINK MAX delivers portable three-phase 400 V power by linking three Instagrid ONE units, replacing larger generator systems and extending the reach of clean portable power into new applications.

What the shortlisting means

Being recognised at the National Sustainability Awards matters because the criteria are grounded in evidence. This is not a nomination for ambition or intention. It is recognition for measurable, scalable, real-world impact, delivered today.

For every Instagrid unit deployed, there is a combustion generator that did not run. That is the change that counts.

The awards ceremony takes place on 8th October in London, we wish all the shortlisted companies the best of luck and will share the outcome after the event.
