Instagrid portable power being used on site by one of Sunbelts customers

Sunbelt Rentals UK makes landmark investment in Instagrid portable power

As Sunbelt Rentals expands their fleet of portable power systems, we’re proud to announce the largest UK customer commitment in Instagrid units to date – as the UK’s largest equipment rental provider brings zero-emissions energy to even more customers across the UK and Ireland, marking a major milestone in the transition to cleaner, mobile energy for thousands who rely on off-grid power.

Having initially invested in Instagrid’s flagship product, Instagrid ONE (230V) back in 2023, Sunbelt Rentals UK Ltd have continued to expand their fleet across the full product range - adding Instagrid GO (110V) and LINK models to support a broader range of industries and applications.

This latest investment includes a significant expansion of Instagrid GO units, specifically tailored to meet the needs of the UK construction market. It also strengthens Sunbelt’s offering of portable 3-phase power with the addition of LINK MAX (400v) units to their fleet.

The move to invest in clean, portable power is driven by customer demand and reflects a shared vision between Instagrid and Sunbelt Rentals: making low- and zero-emission equipment more accessible to professionals throughout the UK and Ireland. By expanding their fleet and deploying Instagrid units across their national depot network, Sunbelt Rentals are enabling their customers to move away from noisy, polluting generators and access the latest clean energy technology.

Instagrid’s portable power solutions not only help users meet sustainability goals but also improve on-site safety by reducing cable runs and eliminating wet fuel, while offering a proven ability to lower running costs.

Andy Webb, National Sales Director at Sunbelt Rentals, commented: “This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with low and zero carbon alternatives that do not compromise on performance. Instagrid technology has proven to reduce carbon emissions, improve productivity, and provide our customers with instant, reliable power in a compact, portable package. By becoming the UK’s largest supplier of Instagrid, we’re making sustainable power solutions more accessible to our customers and helping them easily make the switch to low and zero emission technology.”

A key part of this rollout includes the nationwide deployment of Instagrid GO (110V) units, enabling Sunbelt Rentals to serve the reactive tool hire and construction markets with instant access to clean, portable power.

Matt O’Hara, Sales Director at Instagrid UK, added: “We are proud to partner with Sunbelt Rentals UK on this landmark investment. Their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver clean, portable energy solutions that replace polluting generators. Together, we’re enabling industries to accelerate their transition to net zero while improving the working environment for countless professionals.”

With this expansion, Sunbelt Rentals UK Ltd now holds one of the largest rental fleets of Instagrid units worldwide - a testament to the growing demand for clean energy solutions in the equipment rental sector.

Instagrid will also feature prominently at Sunbelt Rentals’ upcoming Innovation Day, an annual event that showcases the latest advancements in sustainable equipment. Their Innovation Day will give customers the opportunity to explore Instagrid technology alongside other innovations and see how easy it is to make the green switch.
