How Instagrid silently powered a major international event in the heart of Paris

When it comes to large-scale international events, every detail counts, especially the power supply.

In June, Morier’n Événements faced a formidable challenge at Parc de Sceaux in Paris: powering 100 locations spread across a 450,000 m² site over three days, without noise, emissions, or heavy infrastructure.

The goal? Seamless, sustainable energy delivery with maximum flexibility.

A logistical power challenge of unprecedented scale

“For this event, we had to distribute power over an area 1,500 meters long and 300 meters wide, delivering energy to 48 activity zones and 100 usage points,” said Nicolas.

The requirements were ambitious. The open-air nature of the event called for a power supply that was:

Nicolas first encountered Instagrid’s portable power solutions at a trade show. “We discussed the feasibility and the scale of deployment. After a rigorous 10-day testing phase and detailed consumption analysis, we decided to go ahead.”

The result: deployment of 24 Instagrid ONE units and 5 Instagrid LINK modules across the site.

Instagrid LINK allowed up to three Instagrid ONE units to be combined together, delivering extended power capacity where needed - critical for covering such a large and diverse site.

Connected energy management with Instagrid APP

On an event of this scale, real-time energy oversight is crucial. That’s where the Instagrid APP came in - designed for remote management of an entire battery fleet.

Using the app, Nicolas and his team could:

  • Monitor charge levels of each Instagrid unit

  • Receive low-battery alerts

  • Track remaining runtime

  • Geolocate units via built-in GPS

  • Analyze usage data to optimize deployment

“With instant mobile access, we efficiently managed autonomy, location, and charge status,” Nicolas explained. The app’s intuitive interface made it easy to coordinate units across zones and in remote areas, without running any additional cables.

Instagrid’s innovation doesn’t stop at hardware. Its open software platform enabled deep integration into Morier’n Événements’ operational systems.

“Our developer collaborated with Instagrid’s team to implement a custom API for centralized unit management,” Nicolas shared.

This integration allowed the team to:

  • Monitor battery rotation, charging, and storage from a central dashboard

  • Match real-time field data to the specific energy needs of each area

  • Streamline decision-making during the event’s 3-day runtime

This seamless central-local coordination dramatically boosted operational efficiency.

A quiet, clean, cable-free alternative to fuel powered generators

“The benefits of Instagrid are substantial, fewer cables, no noise, no liquid fuel, and a massive cut in carbon footprint,” said Nicolas.

Equipment powered by Instagrid during the event included:

  • 12 pairs of Nexo active speakers (200 W each)

  • 8 phone charging stations

  • 3 hydration stations (3 fountains each)

  • 3 large-format digital signage screens (65 inches)

While a few high-demand areas used hybrid systems (battery storage combined with generator), most zones ran entirely on Instagrid ONE, either standalone or combined via LINK modules.

The result? A quieter, cleaner experience for the public, and a much smaller environmental impact.

Results from the 3-day event

Thanks to Instagrid’s portable power solution, Morier’n Événements delivered a reliable energy infrastructure while cutting emissions significantly. The built-in telemetry system recorded:

  • Total runtime: 525 hours

  • CO₂ saved vs. fossil fuel generators: 1,326 kg

  • Carbon monoxide avoided: 366 kg

  • Nitrogen oxides (NOx) avoided: 0.37 kg

The feedback from the technical crew was unanimous: easy to transport, quick to deploy, and no fuel logistics. The flexibility it offered on the ground was a game-changer.

“If I had one tip for technical directors,” Nicolas added, “it would be to accurately calculate the wattage needs of each point in advance and plan the battery inventory accordingly.”
