Since the launch of Instagrid GO (110V) in 2024, our team has received consistently positive feedback from construction sites using it to tackle dewatering and flooding - a challenge that becomes especially common at this time of year.
But real-world feedback is one thing; controlled performance tests are another. So when Tsurumi Pumps invited us to their testing facility in the South of England, we jumped at the chance to put both Instagrid GO and LINK MAX through their paces and measure exactly how many litres of water each setup could move on a single charge.
Test 1: Instagrid GO (110V) + Tsurumi LB480 Submersible Pump
Working alongside the Tsurumi team, we paired one Instagrid GO 110V unit with the widely used Tsurumi LB480 2" submersible pump - a trusted workhorse for general site dewatering.
Objective: Measure how many litres of water the setup could pump on one full charge.
Test 2: Instagrid LINK MAX (3‑phase) + Tsurumi KTV 3‑55 Heavy‑Duty Pump
Next, we tested a more demanding setup: the Tsurumi KTV 3‑55- 3.2” a robust 3‑phase pump engineered for water containing sand, silt, and debris.
For this, we used the Instagrid LINK MAX system, consisting of: • 3 × Instagrid ONE (230V) units • 1 × LINK MAX controller
Objective: Again, measure how many litres of water could be pumped on a single charge.
The Results
Both pumping systems were run continuously until the power supply ended and the results were impressive:
Runtime & Performance
Equipment | Application | Runtime | Average Flow Rate | Total Water Moved |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Tsurumi LB480 (110V) + 1x Instagrid GO | Site dewatering | 3 hrs 15 mins | 197.3 LPM | 38,473 litres |
Tsurumi KTV 3‑55 (400V) + 3x Instagrid ONE units + LINK MAX | Heavy‑duty pumping | 49 mins | 897.8 LPM | 43,992 litres |
Pumping around 40,000 litres of water on a single charge - without fuel, fumes, or excessive noise - clearly demonstrates what Instagrid systems can achieve.
Real-World Benefits for Construction Sites
In real operations, pumps don’t often run continuously. They typically switch on only when water levels rise. And that’s where Instagrid systems excel:
No idling – zero wasted energy
Instant, pure power the moment it’s needed
Silent, emission-free operation – ideal for overnight use
Keeps sites clear of rainwater without constant supervision
Perfect for nights, weekends, and unattended areas where a generator would be impractical.
And when it’s time to recharge? Instagrid GO is back to full power in under 3 hours.
More Than a Pump Power Source
While these tests highlight pumping performance, Instagrid GO is designed as a complete 110V site power solution - equally capable of powering:
Lighting
Welders
Breakers, drills, and disc cutters
Other high-demand handheld equipment
Replacing noisy, fuel‑driven small generators, Instagrid brings clean, portable, reliable power to every part of the site.
If your team hasn’t made the switch yet, Instagrid can be hired from most major rental providers or purchased through our authorised distributor, Seddon’s Plant & Engineering - also one of the UK’s biggest stockists of Tsurumi pumps. A perfect pairing this time of year.
