Sea and Land Technologies Pte Ltd (SALT) provides technical solutions to public-sector clients across Singapore. When SALT needed a reliable portable power solution to support field monitoring operations, the requirement was straightforward: it had to work, under real conditions, in the field (and in this case – at sea).
Kheng Sun, Instagrid's distribution partner in Singapore, had already been supporting SALT with various power solutions. Introducing Instagrid ONE into this application meant one thing: the performance had to be proven on site, not on paper.
The challenge
Changing an established solution is never just a procurement decision. It requires confidence. For SALT and the end user, that confidence could only come from direct, real-world evaluation, not from data sheets and product demonstrations.

Putting Instagrid to the test
Four Instagrid ONE units were deployed for field evaluation at sea, where they were used to charge surveillance equipment throughout the trial period.
The equipment had previously relied on a bulky, heavy battery that was not weather-resistant. With limited space on board and exposure to challenging weather conditions, the application called for a power solution that was compact and portable, weather-resistant, reliable and emission-free.
Throughout the tests with Instagrid units, several practical advantages stood out:

Throughout the trial, Kheng Sun's team worked alongside SALT and the end user, providing on-site support. The result
Following the successful field trials, SALT and their client selected Instagrid ONE as the preferred solution. Four units were subsequently supplied for the application.
