Instagrid GO has been awarded a 2026 International Green Apple Environment Award!
Selected from more than 700 entries worldwide, it’s been recognised among this year's leading examples of environmental best practice.
What are the Green Apple Awards?
Run by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-profit organisation founded in 1994, the Green Apple Awards recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. Winners are presented with their trophies at the Palace of Westminster in London, and the level of each award (Green Champion, Gold, Silver or Bronze) is revealed on the day.
Why Instagrid makes a difference
Small combustion generators are still the default for off-grid power on many sites, and they bring fuel, fumes and noise with them. Instagrid GO (110v) was launched in October 2024 – offering a reliable – and fossil-fuel free portable power alternative to the UK construction market. It weighs 21 kg, delivers 3.6 kW rated output power, supporting peaks of up to 18 kW and has a 2.1 kWh capacity. Instagrid units can handle demanding 110 V tools like breakers, welder and grinders – without the added noise of emissions of a generator. Its Network Rail approved variant, GO RAIL, brings the same clean power to the UK rail network.
The impact behind the award
As detailed in our 2025 Impact Report, customers using Instagrid portable power supplies have collectively achieved:
More than 1 million tonnes of potential CO2e emissions avoided over the lifetime of their equipment, the same as the annual carbon saving made by 281 wind turbines.
401 tonnes of NOx avoided (the equivalent of travelling to the moon and back 1,300 times).
With an estimated 180,000 professionals now working in healthier, quieter conditions around the world. And to-date over 60,000 Instagrid units have been shipped worldwide since launch. While our IoT-enabled units give customers real-time data, and our impact figures are analysed and validated by external partners to international standards, including independent testing by TÜV NORD. It all adds to our transparency and our impact.
What happens next?
On 23 November 2026, our team will collect the award at the House of Lords and Instagrid has also been invited to become a Green World Ambassador. Accepting this status would see Instagrid represent the UK at the Green World Awards in Fiji in 2027 and its winning paper published in The Green Book, so others can learn from it.
A shared achievement
This award belongs to every customer, rental partner and crew member who chose clean power over combustion. Thank you for making the switch.
It rounds off a bumper year of accolades – with Instagrid already named the European Rental Product of the Year at the ERA’s and taking home the Greener Awards at this years TPI Awards.
