EnterTec powers remote broadcasts with Instagrid

Why EnterTec trusts Instagrid for event and broadcast power across the UK

EnterTec is one of the UK's leading event technology and AV service providers. They were also among the first in the UK to adopt Instagrid portable power supplies, and they haven’t looked back since.

From live broadcasts in remote locations to major sporting events and everyday corporate infrastructure, Instagrid has become the default solution for outlying low and medium power needs across EnterTec's operations. The result: cleaner, quieter events, faster setup, and a competitive edge in a market where sustainability credentials increasingly matter.

The challenge

Temporary event power has traditionally meant generators, long cable runs, and fixed mains connections. For EnterTec, that created a familiar set of problems: diesel emissions, noise in broadcast and wellness environments, trip hazards from extensive cabling, limited flexibility in power placement, and teams waiting on infrastructure before work could begin.

In an industry where speed and reliability are non-negotiable, those limitations had a direct impact on operational efficiency and client experience.

The solution

EnterTec initially trialled Instagrid’s portable power supplies on live events, to ensure trust and reliability. As an early adopter of a new technology – this was essential to maintain reputation. They worked. And EnterTec expanded their fleet as demand and use cases grew. They’ve since built them into standard event operations across the business, as well as adopting throughout Potential Difference, their group sister company specialising in broadcast and location power.

The shift goes beyond sustainability. Instagrid puts the team in control. No waiting for mains connections. No centralised power to manage around. Power goes exactly where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

Proven event, after event

Remote broadcast in the Welsh mountains

For a regular broadcast project in a remote location with no nearby mains supply, Potential Difference needed to power camera equipment and fibre infrastructure across a mountainside. Their Instagrid one (230v) units delivered reliable, silent power without generators, fuel logistics, or extensive cabling. Instagrid LINK system provided the scalability to sustain the live broadcast without a single unit swap-out.

London Marathon

Powering water station infrastructure along 26 miles of race route has traditionally required generators or lengthy cable runs. Using Instagrid, EnterTec and long-standing partner NSR Communications deployed power exactly where it was needed: no trip hazards, no setup complexity, no engine noise for participants, spectators, or staff.

British Superbike Championships

Up to 15 Instagrid units paired with LINK systems now travel with the Potential Difference crew across the BSB season, supplying flexible power for broadcast camera coverage around the entire race track. At night, depleted units recharge from the hybrid functionality of the main broadcast compound machine, which trickle charges from an integrated solar array during the day. During the sunnier rounds of the 2026 season, trackside power at some BSB locations was sourced almost exclusively from the sun.

Everyday event applications

Instagrid has also become the default for smaller remote power needs: entrance gate ticketing systems, PA systems, information points, and emergency event response equipment. Teams deploy in minutes, with no external suppliers and no temporary infrastructure to install.

The results

Faster setup and breakdown. Greater flexibility in power placement. Reduced cabling and associated safety risks. Lower fuel consumption and no local emissions on site. Stronger sustainability credentials that clients notice, and that are increasingly influencing procurement decisions.

What began as a sustainability initiative has become a strategic business advantage. As demand for cleaner event and broadcast production grows, portable power is becoming essential temporary infrastructure. EnterTec and Potential Difference are helping lead that transition.
