As we head into the winter months lighting becomes one of the most critical pieces of kit on any site.
Whether you're managing a car park, a rail track, a construction site or an event space, the question is always the same: how do you keep people safe, sites illuminated while keeping costs down, noise low – and emissions to a minimum?
This winter, we tested Instagrid GO (110v) alongside the Carbon8 T3 lighting tower to find out exactly how much runtime a combined setup delivers.
The Carbon8 T3: capable light, extended further
The T3 is a fully mobile lighting tower - 48 kg, self-contained, with its own internal battery. It covers up to 980 m² at 11 lux and deploys quickly – going anywhere mains power isn't an option.
On its own, it's a solid performer. Paired with Instagrid GO, the runtime extends significantly.
Configuration | Runtime |
Instagrid GO only (T3 depleted) | 6 hours |
Fully charged T3 + Instagrid GO | 10 hours |
T3 only at full output (no Instagrid) | 4 hours |
All runtimes based on 100% output and subject to variation with brightness setting
Over 10 hours of continuous lighting from a single fully charged setup - enough for a full shift. At the end of the night, both units easily recharge from a mains socket.
And if you need to run tools or other equipment during the shift, you can – Instagrid GO has two sockets (note that running multiple loads will reduce total lighting runtime) – allowing you to take lighting, tools and power where ever your work takes you.
It’s important to note Instagrid GO works with any 110V light that has an input power socket and a compatible output rating. That means your existing fleet of corded lighting towers and task lights can all benefit from the same fuel-free, emission-free runtime extension.
No fumes. No noise. No fuel.
For night shifts, built-up areas and environmentally sensitive locations, this matters. Instagrid GO operates silently and produces zero emissions at point of use. No noisy combustion engine chugging away all night.
Scale up with Instagrid LINK
Need more capacity? Our Instagrid LINK lets you connect multiple Instagrid units together, increasing total output without adding complexity. This allows users to build their own portable power and lighting hub - ready to go wherever the job takes you.
Stay on top of runtime
Instagrid’s built-in telemetry lets you set alerts before a recharge or swap-out is needed. No surprises mid-shift. When the job's done, Instagrid GO’s hand-potability allows users to carry the unit to its next location or back to your central charging point. The T3 wheels back to the hub. Both are available from hire providers across the UK.
The smarter way to light your site this winter
The Instagrid GO and Carbon8 T3 combination is one example of what's possible when portable power and portable lighting work together in the field. However, any corded light can benefit from the same approach.
Quiet. Clean. Portable. Ready for a full shift.
