At Instagrid, we're proud to share the latest positive milestone in our ongoing sustainability journey. Our near-term emissions target to reduce our scope 1 & 2 emissions (tCO2e) by at least 42% calculated from 2023 to 2028, has been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that we're on track in reducing our scope 1 and scope 2 emissions in line with 1.5 degrees Paris Climate Agreement. This achievement reflects our steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility and underscores our dedication to making a positive impact on the world.
A Commitment to Reduction
Our validation by SBTi reaffirms our commitment to reducing emissions that are directly in our control (so-called scope 1 and 2 emissions), including electricity, heat, and vehicle gas purchases for company use. The SBTi recognizes that as a small company, our leverage on emissions that occur in our supply chain (scope 3) is still limited. Nevertheless, SBTi asks companies to commit on Scope 3 emission reduction. We have set an internal target to effectively tackle scope 3 emissions as part of our emission-reduction roadmap. These targets represent significant steps in our goal of creating a better and safer environment, as we actively work to minimise our own carbon footprint.
